Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to PhotoMentor ("we," "our," or "us"), a service owned and operated by SolveOne EOOD. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data across all of our surfaces: the Web Application, the Chrome Extension, the Android app, the Telegram bot and the public API.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we collect your email address and name to identify your account and manage subscriptions.
  • Images: We process images that you explicitly upload or select for analysis.
  • Google Photos integration data: If you enable the Chrome Extension's Google Photos integration, the extension may read the currently visible image URL on photos.google.com, compute a compact visual fingerprint, and use the visible preview image to find an existing PhotoMentor critique or to send that preview for analysis when you request it.
  • Platforms: PhotoMentor is available as a website, a Chrome Extension, an Android app and a Telegram bot. The data described here applies across these surfaces; platform-specific details are noted where relevant.
  • Stored history and thumbnails: Your analyses, their text/metadata and small thumbnail images are stored so you can revisit your history. They remain until you delete an item or your account.
  • Purchase and subscription state: We store the status of your purchases and subscriptions (via Stripe, Google Play Billing or Telegram Stars) to grant access. We never receive your card details.
  • Product analytics: Optional product-usage events tied to your account (see Section 6). They are deleted when you delete your account and are never sold or used for advertising.

3. How We Process Images

We do not store your personal photos on our servers permanently.

When you request an analysis:

  • Your image is temporarily processed to extract visual data.
  • We use the Google Gemini API to perform the AI analysis. The image data is transmitted securely to Google for this purpose.
  • Once the analysis is returned to you, the image data is discarded from our processing pipeline.
  • Thumbnails: A small thumbnail of each analysed image is stored so it can appear in your history. It is served from an unguessable (non-listed, non-indexed) storage URL rather than a login-gated endpoint, and persists until you delete the analysis or your account.
  • Optional stored originals: If you submit a photo for a content report, or use Bulk Culling, the relevant images are stored for that specific purpose with limited retention. Publicly shared photos are covered by the Public Sharing Exception below.
  • No AI training. We do not use your photos to train, fine-tune, or improve any machine learning or AI models. Images are sent to the Google Gemini API solely to generate your individual critique and are not retained for model development. We do not transfer your images to any third party for generalized AI or ML training. We never use your images or data for advertising purposes.
  • Public Sharing Exception: If you explicitly choose to use the "Share" feature, your photo and its analysis will be stored and made publicly accessible via a unique link. By using this feature, you consent to the public display of your content.

4. Chrome Extension and Google Photos

The Google Photos integration is optional and can be turned off in PhotoMentor settings.

  • The extension only runs this integration on photos.google.com.
  • It does not access your full Google Photos library. It works with the image currently visible in the active Google Photos tab.
  • Google Photos CDN URLs are used only temporarily to fetch the visible preview image. We do not store those URLs permanently.
  • For history matching, we may send a compact image fingerprint to our backend. For analysis, we process the visible preview image, not the original Google Photos file.

5. Payments

We use Stripe for payment processing. We do not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to Stripe whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

On Android, subscriptions and purchases are handled by Google Play Billing; in the Telegram bot, by Telegram Stars. In all cases PhotoMentor receives only the purchase and subscription status needed to grant access — never your card or payment-instrument details.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with PhotoMentor. Analytics helps us improve the product by showing which features are used, where users encounter friction, and how the site is discovered.

What we collect through analytics:

  • Page views and in-app events (e.g. photo analyzed, checkout started)
  • Device type, browser, and approximate geographic location. The request country may also be used transiently to select the appropriate analytics-consent experience.
  • Referrer URL and UTM campaign parameters
  • Session duration and navigation flow

User identification:

For signed-in users who have granted analytics consent, we may send a pseudonymous internal user ID to GA4. This ID is an internal account identifier — it is never your email address or name. It allows us to understand aggregate usage patterns across sessions (e.g. how many analyses a typical user performs before upgrading) without identifying you personally.

Cross-domain measurement:

Analytics is active on both photomentor.pro (the marketing site) and app.photomentor.pro (the application). We use GA4 cross-domain linking so that a single visit — starting from the site and continuing in the app — is counted as one session rather than two. Both domains use the same GA4 property (G-S9GTRM7D3M).

Regional analytics consent:

We use the country associated with the incoming request, as provided by our hosting provider, to determine which analytics-consent experience applies. We do not store the country in our consent cookie. If the country cannot be determined reliably, we apply the stricter consent experience and keep analytics storage disabled until you choose to enable it.

Android app:

The Android app does not load Google Analytics or any advertising, crash-reporting or session-replay SDK, and uses no Advertising ID. With your consent, it sends a small set of coarse first-party product-analytics events (for example: analysis started or completed, paywall shown, purchase outcome, desktop CTA shown or clicked) to our own backend, tied to your account. These events contain no image, price, payment token, order ID or free-form text, and are deleted when you delete your account. They are optional and off by default until you accept.

Your choices:

  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and any region that cannot be determined reliably, analytics storage is disabled by default. We show an analytics notice and enable analytics cookies only if you choose "Accept analytics."
  • In other supported regions, analytics may be enabled by default. You can turn it off at any time using the persistent analytics preference control on photomentor.pro or under Settings → Analytics in the web application.
  • Your choice applies across photomentor.pro and app.photomentor.pro using a shared, first-party PhotoMentor consent cookie. The cookie contains only the consent version and your choice; it does not contain your country, IP address, account identifier, or email.
  • If you reject or disable analytics, we update Google Consent Mode and remove PhotoMentor GA4 cookies from the browser. GA4 may still receive limited cookieless measurement pings that do not use analytics cookies for cross-session identification.
  • Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalisation remain disabled in all regions. We do not use GA4 for personalised advertising.
  • You can also opt out of Google Analytics globally using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini API: For AI image analysis.
  • Google Analytics 4: For usage analytics on the website and web app only, never in the Android app (see Section 6).
  • Vercel: For hosting the website and web application. Vercel provides the request country used to select the appropriate analytics-consent experience.
  • Google Auth: For user authentication.
  • Stripe: For web payments and subscriptions.
  • Google Play Billing: For Android purchases and subscriptions.
  • Telegram: For the Telegram bot and Telegram Stars payments.
  • Supabase: For database and image/thumbnail storage hosting.

8. Accessing and Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account, or via our public deletion page at photomentor.pro/account-deletion.

Deletion removes your account and its analyses, history, thumbnails, reports, Bulk assets, cached audio critiques and share links, and revokes your public shares. On deletion we attempt to cancel any active subscription (including a Google Play subscription), but because a provider outage must never block your deletion you should still verify — and if necessary cancel — the subscription directly in Google Play or Telegram.

Retained de-identified purchase record: To meet legal, accounting and anti-fraud obligations and to prevent the same purchase from being claimed twice, we may keep a minimized, de-identified record of a purchase (a one-way token digest and coarse status) after deletion. It has no PhotoMentor account binding and contains no email, name, account identifier or client-visible secret. The digest lets us recognize the same purchase for replay, refund and accounting purposes, so it is de-identified rather than absolutely anonymous.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Backups held by our infrastructure providers may take additional time to expire on their normal cycle.
